Capacity: 12 Skill level: Beginner. Adults only. Location: Maine Art Gallery, 15 Warren St., Wiscasset, ME. Materials: Students will bring their art supplies and sketchbook. Full supply list will be provided after registering. Learn how to bind the pamphlet stitched book. This class introduces the vocabulary of book anatomy, the tools needed for hand book binding and material considerations for making a beginner book structure. We will learn how to bind a soft and hard covered book. A single gathering book that can be used as a journal, to collect favorite recipes, poems, printed materials, and more. Students will learn the anatomy of a book. Each participant will make a simple paper covered style and finish with a hard cover version. Each person will also learn how to create three dimensional stars out of paper. No prior experience required.
